Q. Do I have to decide the exact ship or resort and travel date right now to start my deductions?
A. No! As long as you determine the season in which you wish to travel, your room type or cabin and deck selection and the duration of your vacation, you don't have to decide the exact ship or resort and travel date until ninety (90) days prior to the end of your deduction period.
Q. What if I can't decide yet which season to travel or even where I want to go?
A. You know you want to go on vacation. But you don't know exactly when or where. With the Genesis CareFree Program there's no rush. You can begin payroll deductions now and select your vacation later. Simply elect to make a fixed payroll deduction each month in increments of $25 ($50 minimum). Your funds will be held in an escrow account and accrue interest which is applied to your balance. You can use your funds any time to book a vacation. If the funds are not sufficient to pay for the vacation you select, your monthly deduction amounts can be increased and spread over a suitable period prior to travel. If your accrued funds are greater than the price of your vacation, we'll refund the difference or apply it to your account for future travel. Of course, like all Genesis packages, travel must be booked 60 days prior to your departure date.
Q. What happens if I change my mind about the cabin or room I chose?
A. Based upon availability, Genesis can make a change and spread any additional cost, if up-grading, over the balance of your deductions, or we will accept a one time payment from a credit card or checking account. If a lesser cabin or room is selected a $15.00 per person fee will apply and the remaining deductions will be reduced to reflect a lesser cost, or the difference can be refunded directly to the employee by check, dependent upon the remaining amount of deductions.
Q. What if I want to take a longer or shorter vacation?
A. Based upon availability, Genesis will accommodate any change request. If the change occurs within 70 days from the previously selected travel date a $35.00 per person change fee will apply. The difference in cost, if greater, can be spread over the balance of the deductions or made by a one-time payment. If the new selection is a lesser cost than the original, the remaining deductions will be adjusted accordingly or the employee will be refunded directly.
Q. If I need to postpone my vacation is there an expiration date and will I lose my money?
A. No! There is no expiration date, your funds will remain in an escrow account until you either use them against a new vacation selection or elect to be reimbursed less any applicable cancellation fees.
Q. What if I change my employment, or want to cancel completely?
A. The program is fully portable, so you can keep the benefit regardless of continued employment. You can cancel the program at any time and receive a refund less any applicable cancellation fees. Please see Terms and conditions for full details.
Q. What if I want to travel with friends or family who work at a different company, do I have to pay for their vacation?
A. No you don't! We will book your family or friends on the same vacation and allow them to pay for it over the same period of time, interest free, but bill them from their checking account or credit card every month.
Q. Can I travel before I have finished my deductions?
A. No! You cannot travel until 60 days after your last deduction has been made.
Q. If I want to travel sooner than the sixteen-week deduction would allow?
A. Yes! We can accommodate special requests and can offer unique deduction periods to meet your needs and administer a combination of larger deposits and payroll deduction.
Q. Can I buy travel insurance?
A. Yes! Travel Insurance is available through our Vacation Specialists at the time of booking in varying degrees of coverage. Premiums can be paid as a one-time payment or spread out and included in your payroll deduction.
Q. Can I buy a cheaper vacation?
A. Yes. You will find cheaper last minute deals in the newspaper or on the Internet. These deals will require either full payment at the time of booking or a large deposit and require you to travel within a short period of time. Payroll deduction is not available anywhere else.
Q. How do I know what to do?
A. You will receive travel documents after your last deduction has been made. These documents will contain complete instructions and all the information you need to get to your destination stress free.
Q. How do I get to the ship or resort, and is that included in the price?
A. No it is not included. You can fly or drive depending on where you live and which vacation you choose. This is your responsibility to arrange and is not included in the price. However, our Vacation Specialists will be very pleased to assist you in making these arrangements and have access to discounted flights for our program. |
